Deep DPF Inspect · App
App Terms of Use
Last updated: 20 October 2026 · Applies to the Deep DPF Inspect mobile app
1. Provider and scope
The app Deep DPF Inspect is provided by Alexander Wolf, Kehreckweg 10, 76275 Ettlingen, Germany, email: info@dancingbyte.de. These Terms govern use of the app and associated online services to the extent validly incorporated into the applicable agreement. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
2. Features and development status
The app displays and helps users understand diagnostic readings from vehicle control units, particularly diesel particulate filters, regeneration, SCR/AdBlue and related sensors. Actual functionality varies by app version, adapter, vehicle software and supported identifiers.
The app and its vehicle database are under ongoing development. Screenshots, sample values and previews are not promises that any particular vehicle or feature is supported. Unless expressly stated otherwise, this app does not provide ECU reprogramming or forced regeneration functions.
3. Requirements and online DID service
You need a suitable mobile device, relevant OS permissions, a compatible OBD adapter and a supported vehicle. Some functions require an internet connection. Matching diagnostic identifiers (DIDs) to your vehicle may require transmission of the VIN, ECU information and necessary diagnostic responses to our server after approval in the app.
If the required exchange is not approved or connectivity is unavailable, some or all vehicle-specific functionality may not be available. See the app privacy policy.
4. Diagnostic limitations
The app is an informational diagnostic aid, not a calibrated device for official testing, a binding repair diagnosis, or a roadworthiness or emissions inspection. Information can be incomplete or incorrect due to ECU variants, unavailable data, connection errors, interpretation limitations or software faults.
In particular, the app does not certify the vehicle's roadworthiness, condition, emissions compliance or legal status. You remain responsible for decisions based on displayed data; consult a qualified workshop when warnings, defects or doubts arise.
5. Safe and lawful use
Do not interact with the app while driving if this would distract you or violate traffic laws. An OBD adapter must not obstruct vehicle operation, pedals, electronic systems or other safety-relevant equipment. Follow the vehicle and adapter manufacturers' safety instructions.
Use the app only for lawful, authorized diagnostics on vehicles you are entitled to examine. Misusing the service, circumventing security mechanisms or manipulating emissions systems is prohibited.
6. Availability, changes and updates
Free functions that have not been expressly guaranteed may be affected by maintenance, outages or changes in vehicle or adapter behavior. We aim to provide a working service, but do not promise uninterrupted server availability or compatibility with every ECU variant. Mandatory rights under any paid agreement remain unaffected.
Functions may be adapted for technical, operational and security reasons within the limits of applicable law. Legally required information on changes and updates will be provided.
7. Intellectual property and license
For lawful use you receive a limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to use the app in line with these Terms and the relevant app-store usage rules. Software, designs, images, texts and database materials remain the property of their respective owners. Uses permitted by mandatory law are not restricted.
Trademark notice: AdBlue® is a registered trademark of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). Deep DPF Inspect is not affiliated with the VDA.
8. Charges and possible store purchases
If paid versions or additional features are offered, the prices, services and payment terms displayed by the relevant app store before purchase apply. Purchases and subscriptions follow that store's checkout process. Subscriptions must be managed or cancelled with the respective store. This clause does not imply that paid products, subscriptions or store publications are currently available.
9. Warranties and liability
Statutory warranty and liability rules apply. The provider remains fully liable for intentional wrongdoing, gross negligence and injury to life, body or health. For ordinary negligence involving material contractual obligations, liability may be limited to typical foreseeable damage where legally permitted. Mandatory product-liability and consumer-protection claims remain unaffected.
Technical diagnostic information does not replace a professional vehicle inspection. Liability cannot be categorically excluded for unsafe use or ignored warnings; applicable statutory rules control.
10. Ending use
You may stop using and uninstall the app at any time. Uninstalling does not automatically cancel an app-store subscription. Where online services are provided, they may be restricted or discontinued for legitimate reasons, subject to applicable rights. Your data protection rights continue independently.
11. Additional Apple App Store provisions
If downloaded from Apple's App Store, the following terms also apply where relevant:
- This license agreement is between you and the provider, not Apple. The provider alone is responsible for the licensed app and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. Claims and support requests should be directed to the provider using the contact details in section 1.
- The license is limited to Apple-branded devices that you own or control and other usage permitted by the Apple usage rules, including eligible family sharing.
- The provider is responsible for applicable product claims, consumer or privacy claims and third-party intellectual-property infringement claims to the extent required by law. Apple is not a party to this agreement; mandatory rights are not waived.
- You represent that you are not in a country subject to applicable US embargo restrictions or designated as supporting terrorism and are not listed as a prohibited or restricted party by the US government.
- You must comply with applicable third-party terms, including your wireless and internet service agreements.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce applicable terms against you when validly agreed.
12. Privacy, supporters and changes
Vehicle and diagnostic data processing, especially for DID resolution, is described in the app privacy policy. An additional voluntary supporter data contribution option is planned but not implemented. It requires separate information and consent; these Terms do not constitute that consent.
Users will be informed of material changes in a legally appropriate manner. Continued use alone will not automatically be treated as acceptance of all amended contractual terms.
13. Consumer dispute resolution
The provider is neither willing nor obliged to participate in consumer arbitration proceedings unless participation is legally mandatory. The former EU online dispute resolution platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025.
14. Applicable law
German law applies without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in the country of a consumer's habitual residence. If a clause is unenforceable, statutory protections and the remaining valid provisions remain unaffected.
